Bill Andrews is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished scientists in the field of aging research. In 1994, while leading the telomere biology program at Geron Corporation, Dr. Andrews and his team discovered the RNA component of human telomerase — a landmark achievement recognized by Science as one of the ten most significant scientific breakthroughs of the year. In 1997, he became the first scientist to demonstrate that activating telomerase in human cells could reverse cellular aging.
