Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR) project aimed to enhance connectivity and reduce high-level traffic congestion in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC) is doing the CPRR project. The CPRR by TNRDC, with 5 sections, will be Chennai’s 4th Ring Road. The TNRDC is constructing a 6-lane access-controlled 132.87 km expressway. It will connect Ennore Port to Poonjeri. 79% of the work is over. The final Singaperumalkoil to Mamallapuram (Section 5) part is in progress. It is facing rapid progress and it will be over by the end of 2025. The CPRR will become Chennai’s first access-controlled highway. It will improve urban mobility and freight movement.
